Nithya Ganti
President
Hi! I'm Nithya (she/her) and I'm from the Bay Area. I first joined NAMI at UCD in my freshman year and have had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the organization's growth over the recent years. My involvement with NAMI at UCD began after observing the effects of mental illness and the stigma surrounding it on my friends and family every day. I've been involved in mental health advocacy and destigmatization since high school and am truly passionate about it.
I've remained involved in the organization in part because of the amazing community we’ve established. NAMI at UCD has played a vital role in my life. After encountering several personal challenges, the resources, knowledge, and unwavering support from NAMI at UCD have helped me continue moving forward.
In my free time, I like to hang out with friends and family, explore local coffee shops and cafes, and, most importantly, spend time with my dog, Cookie. I recently started learning to sew and embroider, and I'd love to make my own clothes one day!
